Baking is a visual subject, and Bia Flavors uses images to show what a finished bake should look like, what dough should feel like at each stage, and how a technique works. Because images matter so much in recipe publishing, I take image sourcing and creator rights seriously.

This page explains how images may appear on Bia Flavors, where they may come from, how credit is handled, and what creators or rights holders can do if they find their work on the site and want credit, a change, or removal.

My Good-Faith Approach to Image Use

Bia Flavors believes that its use of third-party images complies with fair use, public domain principles, applicable licenses, or permissions connected to the image source. I do not intend to infringe on anyone’s copyright, trademark, or creator ownership.

Still, image sourcing online can be complicated. A baking photo may appear on a brand page, a press kit, a stock platform, a social platform, or many reposted pages before it reaches me. I make a good-faith effort to use images properly and to fix concerns quickly when a creator or rights holder gets in touch.

Respect for Creators

Bia Flavors respects the work of food photographers, stylists, illustrators, bakers, brands, and other creators. If you see your work here, I want you to have a simple way to reach me, and I want the process to be respectful and quick.

How Images May Be Sourced on Bia Flavors

Images on the site may come from several places. Not every post uses every type.

Brand and Press Images

Some posts may show products, ingredients, bakeware, appliances, or packaging supplied by brands or taken from brand pages and press materials. These images may be used for review, comparison, commentary, or product discussion, which may qualify as fair use. Where appropriate, I give credit to the brand, retailer, or image owner.

Paid Stock Photography

I may use licensed images from paid stock libraries. These are used under the license terms of the platform where they were obtained.

Creative Commons Images

Some images may come from platforms that offer creator-approved licenses, such as Unsplash, Pexels, or Pixabay. When a license requires attribution, I aim to provide proper credit and a source link where possible. If a Creative Commons image is missing credit or needs a link correction, I will update it after review.

Public Domain Images

I may use public domain images, such as historical baking photographs, vintage cookbook illustrations, or museum and archive images no longer protected by copyright. Attribution is not always required for these, but I may still include a source credit when it helps readers.

Images Submitted by Readers or Collaborators

Occasionally I feature photos sent in by readers, collaborators, or brands, such as a bake someone made from a recipe. These are used only when permission has been given. By sending an image to Bia Flavors, the sender confirms they have the right to share it and allow its use on the site. If an image was shared by mistake or without proper permission, please contact me so I can resolve it.

Recipe Text and Written Content

The written content on Bia Flavors, including recipe instructions, tips, explanations, and stories, is original work unless stated otherwise. A simple list of ingredients is generally not protected by copyright, but the way a recipe is written and explained is. If you believe written content on Bia Flavors was copied from your work, or that your content was copied from Bia Flavors, please email me with links to both pages so I can review it.

How Credit Is Handled

When attribution is required, I aim to credit the original creator, brand, platform, or image source. Credit may appear in a caption, an article note, a credit line, or another reasonable place on the page, depending on the post.

If credit is incorrect, incomplete, missing, or linked to the wrong source, I will update it promptly once I have enough information to confirm the correction.

When Credit May Be Missing

An image may sometimes appear without full credit because of an oversight, a broken source link, a source page that no longer exists, or an image that circulated widely before it reached me. This is never intentional. I do not want to take credit for anyone else’s work or hide where an image came from.

If you notice an image that needs credit, a corrected link, a different display, or removal, please tell me. I would rather fix it directly than leave a creator feeling ignored.

Options for Rights Holders

If you are a rights holder and find your work on Bia Flavors, you can choose what works best for you:

  • Request proper credit. If you are happy for the image to stay but want clearer attribution, I will add or correct it.
  • Request a display change. You can ask for a different crop, size, caption, credit link, or source note.
  • Request complete removal. If you prefer the image removed, I will take it down from the relevant page.

For any of these, email contact@biaflavors.com with the page link and your preferred request.

Response Time

I aim to respond to rights holder requests within 48 hours. Simple removals can usually be handled the same business day after I review the request. Some requests may take longer if ownership needs to be verified, the image appears on several pages, or many images are involved. Even then, I will handle the matter as quickly and respectfully as I can.

What to Send So I Can Help Faster

Please include:

  • The link to the Bia Flavors page where the image appears
  • A link to the original source of the image, if you have it
  • Proof of ownership, such as a portfolio, photography website, brand page, or licensing page
  • Your name or the rights holder’s name
  • Your preferred contact method
  • Which option you prefer: credit, display change, or removal
  • Any specific credit wording or link you want used

You do not need to write a formal legal notice. A clear email with the image link and your request is enough to start the review.

What Happens After You Contact Me

After I receive your email, I will review the page, find the image, and check the details you sent. Where reasonable, I may verify the ownership claim, source link, or license. Then I will take the right action, which may mean adding credit, correcting attribution, changing how the image appears, replacing it, or removing it. When it is done, I will follow up by email so you know it has been handled.

No Formal Action Needed First

You do not need to hire a lawyer or file a formal notice before contacting me about an image concern. A simple, respectful email is welcome, and most concerns can be settled faster that way than through a formal dispute process.
