Most baking recipes stall for the same few reasons. The recipe is in grams and your scale is in ounces, the oven dial says Fahrenheit but the recipe says Gas Mark, or the pan in your cupboard is not the size the recipe asks for.
These converters cover the questions I run into in my own kitchen. Each one is free, works on your phone, and gives you the number without a sign-up. Pick the one that matches where your recipe is stuck.

Quick reference: 1 cup in grams
| Ingredient | Grams |
|---|---|
| All-purpose flour | about 120 g |
| Granulated sugar | 200 g |
| Packed brown sugar | 213 g |
| Powdered sugar | about 120 g |
| Butter | 227 g |
| Honey | 340 g |
These are averages. A cup of flour can weigh 10 to 20 grams more or less depending on how you scoop it, which is why a kitchen scale gives the most reliable results. Use the converters above when you want a number for a specific ingredient.
