Classic Homemade Waffles

Classic Homemade Waffles are light, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly crisp on the outside. Made with simple pantry ingredients, they come together quickly and are perfect for breakfast or brunch. Serve them warm with syrup, butter, or your favorite toppings for a comforting and delicious start to the day.

Ingredients
  

For the Waffle Batter
  • 270 g 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 50 g ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 480 ml 2 cups milk
  • 113 g ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
For Serving (Optional)
  • Maple syrup
  • Butter
  • Fresh fruits or toppings of choice

Method
 

  1. Preheat the waffle iron until fully hot.
  2. In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients and stir until just mixed (do not overmix).
  4. Grease waffle iron lightly and pour batter (about 1/3 cup per waffle).
  5. Cook until golden brown and crisp.
  6. Remove and place on a wire rack to keep crisp.
  7. Serve warm with toppings of your choice.

Notes

  • Do not overmix batter for fluffy waffles
  • Keep waffles on a rack to avoid sogginess
  • Always preheat waffle iron properly for crisp results
