Method
- Preheat the waffle iron until fully hot.
- In a bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, mix milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients and stir until just mixed (do not overmix).
- Grease waffle iron lightly and pour batter (about 1/3 cup per waffle).
- Cook until golden brown and crisp.
- Remove and place on a wire rack to keep crisp.
- Serve warm with toppings of your choice.
